The program has been composed by three key points.

Match.Point – the International matching program dedicated to the 10 selected companies based in Emilia-Romagna and to the admitted start-ups/scale-ups with the goal of addressing the companies’ challenges. Companies and start-ups/scale-ups had about 3 months to match, connect and find opportunities to co-create solutions around shared business needs.

Big.Match and Final.Match – the closing moments of MATCHER, where further matches, as well as networking with the national and international innovation community, took place. The event was open to innovation actors from all over the world.

PROGRAM & TIMELINE

1. PRE-CALL

JULY 2019

Corporates have been interviewed in order to prioritize their objectives around innovation, strategy, and future-proof solutions during three dedicated multi-sector workshops.

2. CALL IS OPEN

JULY – SEPTEMBER 30th 2019

International Roadshow to scout startups from all over the world in the three fields of the challenges: smart mobility, healthcare and wellbeing, and packaging.

3. STARTUP/SCALEUP SELECTION

OCTOBER 2019

Applicant startups shortlist and selection based on 2 evaluation gates. The first one takes into account a high-level fit to the 3 challenges and trends; the second one is based on both a deck review and a virtual pitch.

4. STARTUP/SCALEUP ON-BOARDING

OCTOBER – NOVEMBER 2019

Three-week virtual program aimed at reviewing startups business models, consolidating their value propositions and revamping their pitch deck to be prepared for the final pitch session.

5. MATCH.POINT

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 13th 2019

Corporate partners and startups meetings to create a win-win relationship aiming to develop a concrete pilot to marketize in low-mid time frame.

6. BIG.MATCH + FINAL.MATCH

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER, 14th 2019

Meetings among innovative corporations, startups and research laboratories from all over the world to enrich each other; an Open Innovation Event with keynotes from international guests and inspiring talks.
